At Craigdon we operate a ski servicing and repair centre.  Our workshop is open over the winter season - generally September to April depending snow conditions and demand.   We are fully equipped with an extensive range of specialist ski tuning machinery and tools operated by experienced and well trained ski technicians.

At Craigdon we love our Snowsports and aim to give your equipment the best possible service so you can get the best out of your next skiing or snowboarding adventure. Need advice on servicing? A quote for a complicated repair? We are more than happy to help so please get in touch.

Below is a short summary of some of the services on offer;

WAX AND EDGE: This is our basic service. For this level of service skis should be in reasonable condition with no deep scratches, if there is more extensive damage we suggest a Full Service.  A Wax and edge will involve sanding the base, bevelling the base edges, a sharpen of the side edge, then de-burr of the edges and detuning the tip and tail. Our technician will prepare the base using a cork finishing belt to provide a wax absorbing structure before hot waxing with a hand iron, scraping and polishing to finish.  Please note: If you require specific base and side edge angles please inform us otherwise they will set to the factory standard.

FULL SKI SERVICE: This is our comprehensive service. The same as our Wax and Edge with the main difference being we repair any damage to the base.  A Full Service will involve cleaning and then filling all the scratches and gouges on the polyethylene base, removal of any excess filling material. Then the next steps are sanding the base, bevelling the base edges, a sharpen of the side edge, then de-burr of the edges and detuning the tip and tail.  Our technician will prepare the base using a cork finishing belt to provide a wax absorbing structure before hot waxing with a hand iron, scraping and polishing to finish.  Please note: If you require specific base and side edge angles please inform us otherwise they will set to the factory standard.

For heavily damaged skis we can provide more extensive repairs at additional cost.

BINDING MOUNTING: If skis or bindings are purchased from us (Craigdon Inverurie, Aberdeen and themountainedge.com) binding mounting is free of charge.

BOOT FITTING AND SERVICING: Ski boots purchased from us (Craigdon Inverurie, Aberdeen and themountainedge.com) are fitted and moulded as part of our boot fitting service by our experienced boot fitters. As part of this service any further adjustments are either free of charge or incur a nominal fee.  If you have bought boots elsewhere and need to have them fitted. One of our experienced boot fitters will assess the boots suitability for yourself.  If required and the boot is suitablable to be moulded we will mould the inners and if appropriate the shells.
