The best way we have found to stop ticks getting onto you while having fun outdoors is to spray Permethrin on your boots, shoes, trousers and other clothing, letting it dry on before heading out. Ticks are killed as they travel across your clothing and treatment lasts 2 to 6 weeks. Tests have shown Permethrin is very effective against ticks when applied to clothing, it does not work on skin so an anti midge/tick treatment like Smidge is also best applied to exposed skin.
