Ski Testing 2016: Atomic Vantage X 80 CTI
Atomic Vantage X 80 CTI – Advanced to Expert all mountain
The all new Vantage X 80 is the all mountain ski to replace Atomics’ all conquering Blackeye. But with the Exo profile slanted side wall enforcing the skis rigidity and reducing swing weight this ski is much more nimble with greater skier feedback. The Firewall sidewalls dampen the ski allowing the edge to settle through the turn delivering confidence. The “Tank Mesh” carbon mesh taken from super cars makes the ski lively and powerful delivering awesome fun and control. With power woodcore and Titanium backbone this ski is able to cope with any speed but the all mountain rocker allows easy control at medium to lower speeds. These skis are amazing fun on piste but with 80mm underfoot have the ability to ski well off the side of the piste or when the piste is not in great nick; that extra volume copes much better in varied piste conditions than a piste carver. This ski is a step forward from the Blackeye it loves fast big turns like its predecessor but its way more fun in short turns and feels much more lively and easy top ski all over the hill. This is a fluid turning, piste gripping, carving machine which flatters your skiing with every turn.
Testers’ Comments: “Ski hard or ski slow, this ski loves to turn. Light lively and fun with power hidden under the bonnet, this ski makes you ski better. Brilliant!”
