DataWax Adjustable Base Bevel

DataWax Adjustable Base Bevel

DataWax Base Bevel Guide Adjustable—the ultimate tool for precise edge tuning on skis and snowboards. Whether you're a recreational skier, a junior racer, or a freestyle enthusiast, this guide helps customize your edge angle for enhanced control and smooth turns. With an adjustable range from 0.5° to 2°, this bevel guide is essential for skiers and riders seeking optimal handling and a personalized feel.
Why DataWax Base Bevel Guide Adjustable Stands Out:
1. Precision Control for Tailored Edge Angles
This fully adjustable bevel guide allows you to dial in your edge angle between 0.5° and 2°, covering the needs of most skiers and snowboarders. A 0.5° bevel is ideal for recreational skiers looking for a smoother, more forgiving ride, while junior racers and slalom enthusiasts often prefer the sharper responsiveness of a 1° bevel. For freestyle riders, especially in parks, a larger bevel angle helps reduce edge catch, making this tool an excellent choice across disciplines.
2. Versatile and Durable Construction
Crafted with an alloy body, the DataWax Base Bevel Guide combines lightweight durability with ergonomic comfort. Designed for easy handling, the guide provides secure control of the abrasive or file, ensuring accurate results with every pass. Unlike many guides that wear quickly, this tool is engineered for frequent use, maintaining performance across multiple setups and snow conditions.
3. Flexible Clamping Mechanism
The adjustable clamping mechanism is compatible with a variety of abrasives and files, allowing you to work with your preferred tools. It securely holds files in place, ensuring smooth, controlled passes for precise beveling. This flexibility makes the tool suitable for both professional tuners and DIY enthusiasts who want a high-quality edge on every outing.
4. Essential for Enhanced Ski Handling
A properly beveled base edge is critical for improved handling and reduced edge-catching. By setting the bevel angle correctly, you can customize your ski’s responsiveness. For example, a shallow bevel angle provides excellent grip and is ideal for carving, while a steeper bevel angle (up to 2°) is perfect for park riders looking to prevent snagging on rails. With this adjustable guide, you can refine your ski’s handling to perfectly match your skiing or boarding style.
5. Professional Results Made Easy
Getting the right bevel is crucial as changing it later requires a full base grind—a costly and time-consuming process. The DataWax Base Bevel Guide allows you to set the bevel carefully, knowing that each degree change will directly impact your ride. For general-purpose tuning, a 0.75° to 1° bevel is often ideal, balancing stability with responsiveness.
6. Ergonomics for Comfort and Precision

Designed for comfort and control, this tool is easy to handle even over long tuning sessions. Its ergonomic shape reduces strain, allowing you to apply steady, even pressure for a smooth, professional finish.

Take away the sidewall and allow yourself to fully sharpen your edges.
After you have sharpened your edges a few times the sidewall interferes with your tuning. It is essential to trim the sidewall so that you can accurately sharpen the edges.
Too much sidewall prevents you sharpening your edges precisely. This is the most common reason for being unable to make a consistently sharp edge.
An easy to use tool.

Binding Freedom Countersunk Screws 16mm

This is the new, lower profile version of the Small head screw Binding Freedom M5 Small Head Screw. Binding Freedom have tooled up their own custom M5 screws which are specifically made for mounting ski bindings to swap plates or inserts. The head is flat and counter sunk underneath and fits like a flathead screw, The underside of the head also has locking serrations to help ensure that the screw doesn’t back out over time. High quality stainless steel. For use with a Pozi #3 screwdriver.
It is very important to maximise the number of threads engaged in an insert or a swap plate, so be sure to measure carefully. Inserts can accommodate from 3mm min to 6mm max of thread engagement. Binding Freedom like to target 4mm of thread engagement. Do not exceed the min/max numbers for any reason – you will not get a secure mount. These screws fit exactly like allen head flatheads in terms of length.
