The Talon 33, designed to follow the dynamic movements of the body, is a simple top-loading backpack, ideal for weekend adventures with little load or demanding day trips.
The Osprey Talon series (and Tempest for women) come in many different sizes and configurations but the best sellers for day packs are the 22 and 33. The 33 is a perfect day sack for Scottish hill use.
This pack is lightweight (at 900grams) but is fully featured. The back system is airspace, keeping the load close to the back, but the back well ventilated. The bag comes sized but you can customise the back length for the perfect fit. The hip belt is broad and stretchy, giving comfortable snug fit and good ventilation. The harness has adjustable wide load spreading comfortable shoulder straps that breathe well. They are equipped with hydrator straw holders and a gps or phone carrier.
Around the front of the pack you have a stretchy pocket suitable for stowing a jacket. The lid has a large zip pocket and a security pocket inside with a key fob. At the sides of the pack there are two large stretchy pockets suitable for a water bottle or other items. Over these pockets are the compression straps which hug the load close to the back, but these are Osprey’s inside out straps which you can set yourself but come from the factory with right side strap under the stretch pocket so you can easily drop a water bottle in and the left hand strap over the pocket to lock whatever you put in there up tight. The bag comes with conventional pole or ice axe holders but also a system whereby you can stow your walking poles away easily without taking your pack off; allowing your hands to be free for scrambling or doing any dexterous tasks without having to take your pack off and on constantly.
The pack also has an external pouch for your hydration sleeve between the back system and the pack, so that you can top up your hydrator at streams without making your kit wet.
The Osprey Talon packs are great for people who want a full featured, light and comfortable day packs. The easy pole stowing is a winning feature on this pack. There is no rain cover included with this pack.
